U.S. Embassy in Chisinau Will Begin Processing Immigrant Visas for Moldovans
For the first time, the U.S. Embassy in Chisinau will begin processing U.S. immigrant visas for Moldovan residents. Until now, the U.S. Embassy in Bucharest has processed immigrant visas for Moldovans. This year, residents of Moldova will finally be able to apply in their own country, without having to apply for Romanian visas and travel to Bucharest. Embassy Chisinau will begin processing immigrant visas on November 1, 2010. »

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies has released 140720 EUR in emergency funding from its Disaster Relief Emergency Fund (DREF) to facilitate the immediate mobilisation of resources and relief for those affected by this disaster. »

The U.S. Embassy Provides Assistance to Moldovan Flood Victims
The U.S. Embassy expresses its condolences to the victims of the recent floods and will provide $50,000 to purchase emergency relief supplies for Moldovan citizens who have been affected by the flooding of the Prut and Nistru rivers. In addition to this financial assistance, the U.S. will provide cots, pillows, blankets, sheets, sleeping bags, and personal hygiene supplies in the amount of over $250,000 to persons in the affected areas. »
