EU to help Eastern Neighbours improve waste governance
The European Commission has launched a new regional project aimed at improving waste governance within the countries on the EU's eastern borders. A press release on the website of the EU Delegation in Belarus says the project called "Waste Governance - ENPI East" aims to support Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine in their efforts to reduce the risks arising from inappropriate management of wastes. »

Czech Republic ceases issuing work visas to some foreigners
The Czech Republic Wednesday has suspended the issuance of work visas to some Eastern Europeans and Asians in response to the economic downturn that has struck the country's export-driven economy, officials said. As of Wednesday, the Czech embassies in Moldova, Mongolia, Thailand, Ukraine and Vietnam are suspending accepting work-visa applications and scheduling work-visa interviews, the Czech Foreign Ministry said in a statement. »
