Moldova will ratify the Conventional Armed Forces in Europe Treaty only if all Russian troops are pulled out of its territory, Moldovan Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Andrei Stratan said. Stratan said at a news conference in Chisinau on October 16 he was disappointed by Russia's decision to suspend participation in the CFE Treaty. "Moldova regrets Russia's decision and advocates talks as a way to solve all problems," Stratan said. "Chisinau remains convinced that Russia must unconditionally withdraw its troops from Moldova and fulfil the obligations assumed at the Istanbul summit of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe in 1999," the minister said.
