The Heads of Mission of European Union member states, the Council of Europe, the OSCE, the Delegation of the European Commission, the Office of the European Union Special Representative, the Republic of Turkey and the United States met with President Vladimir Voronin on December 22, 2008. The diplomatic group discussed issues that have arisen lately within the framework of Moldova's democratic development, including freedom of the media in the context of the upcoming Moldovan elections. The diplomatic representatives stressed their nations' partnership with Moldova and desire to assist Moldova's development toward a prosperous state acting within universal democratic norms.
