Russia and Moldova have signed their largest ever contract on electricity supplies to Moldova, the country's deputy economy and trade minister said on Tuesday.
"Moldavskaya GRES, owned by [Russia's] Inter RAO UES, will supply Moldova with 200-220 million kilowatt-hours every month," Tudor Copaci said.
The contract will run from January 1, 2009, until March 31, 2010.
Copaci said the electricity would cost 5.7-5.8 U.S. cents per kW/h.
