Russian Economy Minister Elvira Nabiullina will pay a working visit to Moldova at the invitation of the countries Economy Ministry on March 25. According to the Moldovan ministry, Nabiullina will participate in a number of bilateral highest-level meetings with Moldova's President Vladimir Voronin and top officials of the Economy Ministry. She will also visit Russia's trade mission launched in late 2008.
According to the Moldovan ministry's data, trade between the two countries reached $984.5m in 2008, up 34.6 percent ($253.2m) from 2007. Moldovan exports to Russia expanded 36.8 percent to $318.4m, while Russian exports to Moldova rose 33.3 percent to $666.1m. Russia is Moldova's third largest trading partner. RBC
