The Head of the European Union Delegation to Republic of Moldova, Mr. Dirk Schuebel, and the Prime Minister of Republic of Moldova, Mr. Vlad Filat, signed on March 3rd the Addendum to the Financing Agreement for the implementation of the programme "Assistance to reform in Moldovan social assistance sector" - ENPI AAP 2007.
The European Union supports Moldova with more than 2.4 million EUR to help cushioning the effects of the energy price increases at the beginning of the year. Around 260 thousand Moldovan citizens will benefit of this EU aid.
Moldovan Premier, Vlad Filat, thanked the European Union for its fast reaction and called the EU a reliable friend of Moldova.
"The European Union has done everything possible to react in proper time and to identify the necessary resources in order to help, firstly, the Moldovan citizens, after the energy price increase earlier this year, said Mr. Dirk Schuebel.
