Romania's Ambassador in Chisinau Marius Lazurca on Tuesday presented his credentials to Moldova's interim President Mihai Ghimpu.
After the presentation of the letter of credence, the two officials had a meeting attended also by the foreign affairs minister of the Republic of Moldova, Iurie Leanca.
Lazurca said that the main purpose of its commission is to support Moldova's modernisation bid, and its getting closer to the European standards and regulations.
"We have been looking forward to this event," said Ghimpu, in his turn. "Your coming here will help us consolidate our relationships. Apart from the fact that we are two neighbour countries, we share the same blood, we speak the same language and we must work for the welfare of all Romanians," said Ghimpu. AGERPRES
