World Bank Group President Robert B. Zoellick will visit Moldova, August 11-12. This is the first visit to Moldova by a World Bank Group President and is part of a three-country tour which also includes Bulgaria and Latvia.
President Zoellick will meet with Prime Minister Vlad Filat, members of the Moldovan Cabinet, ambassadors, think-tanks and heads of donor agencies. He will visit two World Bank projects, jointly with Prime-Minister Filat, and will launch the Moldova E-transformation round-table on August 12. During his meetings with Moldovan leadership, President Zoellick will discuss the impact of the global economic crisis and ways in which the World Bank can further support Government efforts to grow the economy and protect the most vulnerable.
