President of the Romanian Senate's Foreign Policy Committee Titus Corlatean (Social Democratic Party - PSD) said on Thursday that during his meeting with Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova in Bucharest, Iurie Renita, they reviewed the achievements of the two countries' cooperation in 2010 and the priorities for the current year were also set.
"At the beginning of a new year, we wanted to make a stocktaking review of Romania and Moldova's cooperation in 2010, on parliamentary ground included, and to make an assessment, considering also the political developments in Chisinau: the formation of the parliamentary majority, the building of the government which is announced for mid-January and the establishment of the parliamentary structures. We also pursued the identification of cooperation projects between the two countries, for us to see what our priorities are at parliamentary level, but also the external relationship with the European partners of Romania and the Republic of Moldova, so as to back Moldova's efforts for a rapprochement with the European Union," Corlatean said.
He explained that in February, the members of the Romanian Senate's Foreign Policy Committee would meet in Chisinau with the members of the Foreign Policy Committee of the Republic of Moldova, to establish a common calendar for external cooperation. Agerpres
