The U.S. Embassy has received numerous inquiries from Moldovans regarding email messages that inform them that they have won the Diversity Visa Lottery (Green Card). These emails are FAKE and are not sent by the U.S. Government. These emails ask recipients to send money to a Western Union account to pay for visa processing fees. do not send money.
The U.S. Government never notifies Diversity Visa Lottery winners by email, never requests payments to be made to foreign "embassy agents," and never accepts payments by Western Union. If you have received an email like the one described above, please forward it to [email protected] for investigation by U.S. law enforcement.
