The EBRD's Managing Director for Turkey, Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia, Olivier Descamps, is visiting Moldova during 2-4 February 2011.
During the visit Mr Descamps will have meetings with Moldovan authorities, including the Speaker of the Parliament and Acting President Marian Lupu, Prime Minister Vlad Filat, Governor of the National Bank Dorin Dragutan.
On Friday, 4 February, Mr Descamps and the Moldovan Minister of Economy, Valeriu Lazar, will sign a Sustainable Energy Action Plan for Moldova. The document will provide a framework for cooperation between the EBRD and the Moldovan government in improving the environment for sustainable energy investments.
EBRD officials will also hold meetings with representatives of other international financial institutions operating in Moldova, as well as representatives of the business and diplomatic communities.
With committed investments of over €460 million to date, the EBRD is one of the largest investors in Moldova.
