Ambassador Moser Visits Ungheni

Ambassador Moser Visits Ungheni

Yesterday, U.S. Ambassador William Moser made his first visit Ungheni. Ambassador Moser met with local government and business leaders, alumni from U.S. exchange programs, Peace Corps Volunteers, and a group of young students who are studying English through the English Access Microscholarship Program sponsored by the U.S. State Department.

Ambassador Moser also toured the Ungheni Free Economic Zone and met with representatives of Lear Corporation, an American auto parts manufacturing company that employs over 1,000 people from the Ungheni District. Last year, Lear Corporation achieved more than $40 million in sales and this year it plans to hire an additional 800 workers.

Ambassador Moser commented that Lear Corporation is a great example of what can be achieved when Moldova works to create a business environment that is attractive to foreign investors.
