The new Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova , Ambassador Jennifer Brush, took up her position today in Chisinau.
“I am delighted to start working in Moldova at such a propitious time and very much look forward to making progress in the region with our partners on both banks of the Dniester/Nistru river. Ultimately it is up to the people living in the region to determine the conditions for a better life for themselves and their families, and I will make sure that the OSCE Mission supports their efforts. During my tenure as Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova , I will co-operate in all constructive efforts to bring democracy, prosperity and stability to the region,” said Brush.
She will participate in the next round of the 5+2 talks in Vienna in mid-April.
Prior to her assignment as Head of OSCE Mission in Moldova , Brush served 25 years with the U.S. State Department, most recently as Director for South Central Europe in Washington . Previous postings include Deputy Chief of Mission and Charge at the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade , Deputy Chief of Mission and Charge at the U.S. Embassy in Ashgabat, and Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Majuro, Republic of the Marshall Islands .
Ambassador Brush looks forward to being joined by her family later in the year.
Brush replaces Ambassador Philip Remler who left the Mission in January.
