Moldovan Prime Minister Vlad Filat sets off today on a two-day working visit to Moscow at the invitation of Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
The trip is timed to the opening of Moldova’s Days of Culture in Russia. Filat is also scheduled to meet with President Vladimir Putin.
The parties will discuss political, economic, cultural and humanitarian relations. Prior to leaving for Moscow, the Moldovan premier said his country's relations with Russia are “designated as strategic.” Moscow remains a "priority trade partner" for Chisinau, said Filat.
