Republic of Moldova performances lately justify its advance to the EU, in view of a future integration, Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Titus Corlatean stated on Thursday, in Chisinau, reiterating Romania's support, which it is offering and is ready to further provide to the European integration process of the Republic of Moldova.
"We have a strategic partnership, which includes European goals and promotion of the European goals of the Republic of Moldova. We will further act, in relation with our European partners, to grant the needed aid for attaining these targets, according to the Moldavian state's interests", Titus Corlatean said in a press conference, after meeting his counterpart in Chisinau, Iurie Leanca.
He appreciated the evolutions in the Republic of Moldova in this direction, noting that they are also due to the political stability, including following the election of the president of this country.
Titus Corlatean spoke in positive terms about the Romanian-Moldavian relations, emphasizing he discussed with his colleague about the projects agreed upon earlier, especially those pertaining to the interconnection of the power grids and gas networks of Romania and the Republic of Moldova.
"It's also a constant topic on the agenda of Romania's Government and we wish to keep the pace of implementation and the deadlines", he said.
Head of Romanian diplomacy referred, as well, to a project, co-financed by the European Union, in respects of emergency medical care, that Romania may, if necessary, grant to the Republic of Moldova citizens.
Titus Corlatean, who is paying on Thursday his first official visit to Chisinau, as foreign minister, has scheduled meetings with the President Nicolae Timofti, Prime Minister Vlad Filat, Parliament's head Marian Lupu, and Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar. AGERPRES
