Romanian Senate President Crin Antonescu will be paying an official visit to the Republic of Moldova on Wednesday and Thursday on an invitation from Moldovan Parliament Chairman Igor Corman, a release to AGERPRES has announced.

Antonescu is scheduled to meet the Republic of Moldova's President Nicolae Timofti, the Parliament chairman, the members of the Joint Inter-parliamentary Commission for European Integration, Prime Minister Iurie Leanca and members of the Moldovan government.

The official visit and maintaining a direct dialogue in Chisinau between the Romanian Senate head and high Moldovan officials is in line with the moves being made by Bucharest to back neighbouring Moldova's European track and ensure the continuity of the post-Vilnius bilateral consultations, the release said.
