On 13 January at political consultations between the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration the parties examined in detail the assistance already provided by Latvia for Moldova's efforts in implementing reforms in relation to European integration. The sides reviewed future steps for the transfer of Latvia's reform experience to Moldova.
The agenda of the consultations also included Latvia-Moldova bilateral co-operation, the progress of EU-Moldova relations, issues concerning the objectives and opportunities of the Eastern Partnership, as well as the latest advances in the resolution of the Transnistria conflict.
The Latvian delegation was led by Ambassador Eduards Stiprais, Head of the Bilateral Relations Directorate, and the Moldovan delegation was headed by Valeriu Ostalep, the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
Deputy Minister Ostalep also met with the Foreign Ministry Under-Secretary of State, Political Director Peteris Ustubs, and the Director of the Consular Department, Zanda Grauze.
