The project regarding the implementation of new registration certificates has been drafted by the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications in order to adjust the national framework to the requirements of the EU Directive and namely the implementation of advanced technologies and increasing the security level of documents. The new registration certificate is a plastic card of ID-1 format (dimension 54 mm-85,6 mm).
Pursuant to the requirements of the European Union Council the data list in the new certificate shall contain the following information: rights over the vehicles, document validity period, registration date, technical data (vehicle weight, number of seats). This certificate has the status of an official document, which confirms vehicle registration and its record in the State Register of Vehicles, mentioned the Minister of Information Technology and Communications Pavel Filip.
The temporary certificate (dimension 80mm -105mm) shall be issued on security paper for the vehicles of persons, who due to religious reasons refused to be assigned with the State identification number (INDP). The temporary document shall confirm registration of the vehicle and its owner will only be able to use it on the territory of the Republic of Moldova.
For the vehicles that are to be exported from the country, temporary registration certificates and “transit” license plates shall be issued.
The implementation of this project does not require any financial expenses from the state budget and shall not change the current cost of registration certificates. This document shall enter into force starting December 1, 2012. Registration certificates of old type shall remain valid until their expiration date.
